Life and scientific production of E. Primo Yúfera book launch.
Valencia, Spain, 5 October 2011. The Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universidad Católica de Valencia “San Vicente Mártir” have been collaborating in the edition of the book “Eduardo Primo Yúfera, un adalid de la ciencia. Vida y production científica” created by researchers of the “Científicos y Humanistas valencianos del siglo XX” group and sponsored by Fundación Areces.
The book launch took place at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ) placed on the Campus de Vera of the Universitat Politècnica de València. The book was presented by the Rector, Juan Juliá and the Vice-Rector Francisco Mora of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Avelino Corma as researcher of the ITQ, Rafael Aleizandre (CSIC), Vicente Conejero (IBMCP, UPV-CSIC) and José Hernández Yago (Biotechnology Department of UPV).
The book is the result of the work in collaboration of six researchers among which we may find Mª Dolores Planes, of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Cellular (UPV-CSIC), María Ayala, Ángela Moreno, Mª Ángeles Navarro y Asunción Gandía from the Universidad Católica de Valencia and finally Rafael Aleixandre from the Spanish National Research Council.
Prof. Eduardo Primo Yufera (1918-2007) has been considered as the Spanish promoter and driving force of the Food and Technology Science and Ecology as well as for the innovation Spanish system. He was the founder of the Agrochemistry and Food Technology Institute (IATA), president of the Spanish National Research Council and he has developed an important job teaching as Biochemistry Professor at the Agronomic Engineer Technical College of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
