Sara Iborra was born in Carlet (Spain). Currently she is Full Professor at the Chemistry Department of the Technical University of Valencia. She received her Ph. D. in 1987 at the Universidad de Valencia and in the same year she joined to the Chemistry Department of the Technical University of Valencia as Assistant professor.  She teaches Chemistry at the Technical School of Industrial Engineers, and in the Master of Sustainable Chemistry and in the Master of Chemical Engineers in the subjects of Fine Chemistry and Biorefineries respectively. Since 1991 she is member of the Institute of Chemical Technology (UPV-CSIC), working in the group of Prof. Avelino Corma. The main focus of her work is the application of heterogeneous catalysts (acid-base and redox) to the synthesis of fine chemicals, green chemistry and biomass transformation. In this area, she is author of more than 100 publications including articles, patents, conference proceedings and book chapters.
