Welcome
The continuous increase in global energy consumption has highlighted the decline of fossil fuels and triggered a global environmental alert due to the growing emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. The progressive escalation of this scenario has raised awareness of the need to find sustainable alternatives, such as the increasing share of renewable energy sources, the deployment of carbon-free fuels like hydrogen and ammonia, and the electrification of energy-intensive industry.
In this context, the European projects WINNER (Clean Hydrogen Partnership, GA ID 101007165), eCOCO2 (H2020 SC3, GA ID 838077), PROTOSTACK (Clean Hydrogen Partnership, GA ID 101101504), SINGLE (Clean Hydrogen Partnership, GA ID 101112144) and SUSTAINCELL (Clean Hydrogen Partnership, GA ID 101101479) funded by the European Commission, focus on the development of sustainable technologies, with the aim of driving decarbonisation through the environmentally friendly production of chemicals, fuels and energy in industry.
What?
The Autumn School «Inorganic electrochemical reactors for sustainable chemicals, fuels and power production» is a three-day event co-organized by these five projects and aims to create an international exchange and learning forum for scholars interested in learning more about these technologies. The program reflects the research and development work on the project’s sustainable technologies and will be further extended to other applications where inorganic electrochemical reactors offer new technological pathways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve efficiency. The goal is to provide tutorial lectures to give insights into the design, fabrication, characterisation, testing and modelling of materials, components, cells and stacks. Furthermore, the Autumn School will address the up-scaling of the technologies with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
Who?
Young scientific researchers and academics from all fields interested in learning about these technologies and underpinning scientific research activities, are invited to attend the event to share and promote cross-fertilization of ideas. A dedicated session will also be organized to give them the opportunity to present their own research work.

This Autumn School is supported by several European projects. The projects (WINNER, PROTOSTACK, SINGLE, SUSTAINCELL) are supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and its members Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research. The ECOCO2 project has received European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation funding under grant agreement N 838077.
