Research Contract Offer: “State-of-the-Art Characterization of Zeolites and Their Use in Industrially Relevant Separation Processes”. Deadline 30th September
Research Contract Offer
Title: State-of-the-Art Characterization of Zeolites and Their Use in Industrially Relevant Separation Processes
A contract is available at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ), Valencia, Spain, financed by the TED2021–130191B-C41 project funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe” by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR). The possibility that at the end of the contract the selected person will develop a Doctoral Thesis within the research team will be considered.
The ITQ opens the call for the research project described below, supervised by Dr. Teresa Blasco and Prof. Fernando Rey.
The project will focus on understanding the adsorption and diffusion of small molecules through very homogeneous and narrow structural pores of zeolitic and MOF materials. To this end, a series of multidisciplinary techniques will be applied, including theoretical modeling, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, X-ray and electron diffraction, as well as carrying out experiments in large scientific facilities (sources of synchrotron radiation and neutrons, high magnetic field NMR spectroscopy).
The selected candidate will have a unique opportunity to perform experiments using excellent facilities, along with complementary simulation methods to gain insight into a crucial chemical process in the future.
The selected candidate will also have the possibility to compare their results with real adsorption experiments and thus gain skills in adsorption, NMR, and molecular modeling applied to industrial and societal challenges.
The project will be based at the ITQ in Valencia (Spain), where they will be able to take advantage of world-class facilities for adsorption and characterization of solids and of close contact with industry.
Candidates profile: Candidates with the Bachelor’s Degree Grade or Master in Chemistry or Material Science will be evaluated positively.
The call for applications will remain open until 30th September 2023. Decision will be taken in middle October. If interested, please send a CV by E-mail to Dr Teresa Blasco (tblasco@itq.upv.es) and Prof. Fernando Rey (frey@itq.upv.es)
