The UPV, CSIC, and Sener Energy have signed an agreement to develop a pilot plant for green hydrogen generation using microwaves
The pilot plant will be based on a disruptive technology developed by researchers from the ITACA Institute of UPV and the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV-CSIC). The technology allows for greater flexibility and efficiency in the hydrogen generation process. The plant will be built on the UPV’s Vera campus.
Valencia, July 21, 2023 – The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), and SenerEnergy have today signed an agreement to develop a pilot plant for green hydrogen generation, based on a disruptive technology developed by a team of researchers from the ITACA Institute of UPV, a research institute dedicated to the application of research in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV-CSIC), a joint center of UPV and CSIC and a global reference in the development of new catalysts and sustainable chemical processes, with clear leadership in research and innovation in the field of energy transition and industrial decarbonization.
