Scientists of various nationalities are part of two institutions that symbolize excellence: the American Academy of Sciences and the British Royal Society.
In the 20th century, only five Spaniards have been invited to join this accredited society, including Avelino Corma, researcher at the UPV-CSIC Institute of Chemical Technology.
