PhD position in 2D based materials as catalysts for relevant transformations in organic chemistry at ITQ, UPV-CSIC. Antes 9 Julio
A PhD contract for one year and 4 months is offered, with the possibility of time extension, for carrying out a project at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ, UPV-CSIC). The ITQ is a joined institution between Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), that holds the Severo Ochoa recognition for excellent Spanish research institutes. The ITQ is a worlwide recognized research institute in the areas of catalysis, material science and photochemistry.
The candidate will persue PhD studies in the «Sustainable Chemistry» doctorate program of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Web: http://www.upv.es/entidades/EDOCTORADO/info/1005033normalc.html.
The project is aimed to the design of 2D based materials containing metallic species in their surface. The candidate will perform the synthesis of the materials, the characterizations and the study of their possible activity as catalysts for relevant transformations in organic chemistry. Previous experience in organic/inorganic chemistry and material science will be valued.
Candidate requisites are:
- Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines
- MsC degree (or being about to hold it) in chemical sciences
- High interest for research
Prospective starting date: September/October 2020.
Contact: CV with references and academic transcript (including Bachelor) should be sent per email to Dr. Rosa Adam Ortiz (roador1@itq.upv.es) before July 9th, 2020.
