ITQ keeps betting for technology innovation as a fundamental and strategically value.
ITQ has acquired a set up for Ultrafast Transient Absorption Spectroscopy in the scale of femtoseconds. The funding has been provided by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), within the framework of VLC-Campus program, more specifically the microcluster “Light-drug interactions in biological systems and adverse reactions”
The equipment, installed at ITQ a few months ago, is key for research and development of strategic research lines in photochemistry, photobiology and phototechnology. This includes photoactive nano-devices for molecular recognition, metabolism and drug intolerance, development of in vitro models for phototoxicity, photoallergy and photogenotoxicity, xenobiotics interactions with proteins, DNA damage and repair, and technological applications in solar cells, photosynthesis and photocatalysts among others.
This new acquisition is essential to move forward excellence in the photochemistry research area and confirms the compromise to maintain technological innovation as a fundamental strategic value.
