We are very pleased to invite you to participate in the 8th GERMN -5th Iberian Biennial NMR Meeting to be held from 27-29 June in Valencia(Spain), organized by the NMR Group (GERMN) of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) in collaboration with the Portuguese NMR Network (PTNMR) of the Chemical Society (SPQ).

The GERMN Biennial Meetings started in 2002 in Calella de Mar (Barcelona) and since 2008 (Sevilla) have been jointly organized with the PTNMR Group as the Iberian NMR Meeting. The aim is promoting the research on NMR spectroscopy, including method developments and applications in a broad range of scientific fields. The Meeting consists of a number of plenary and invited conferences given by internationally renowned researchers, and scientific communication presented as oral or posters. The participation of PhD and postdoc students as well as of young researchers is highly encouraged, and we will provide a number of grants to support their assistance to the conference.

The meeting will be followed by a Solid State NMR School aimed at spreading the knowledge on fundamental aspects on the use of NMR to study solids and at promoting discussion among participants. We believe that the growing interest on solid state NMR spectroscopy in the last years will stimulate the participation of students, young researchers and technical staff of facilities from different Universities and research centres.

The meeting intends to be the ideal forum to exchange and share scientific ideas, providing the opportunity of establishing fruitful collaborations, helping to build strong research networks within the Iberian community and at an international level. Besides an interesting scientific program, we will intend to prepare attractive social activities for the participants, as we are convinced that stablishing scientific collaborations is enhanced by sharing and enjoying some time with colleagues and friends.
