Qualified candidates are invited to send their application for an open Industrial PhD position at Haldor Topsøe A/S. The successful candidate will be working in a strong, innovative collaborative project between Haldor Topsøe A/S (HTAS), the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia as well as the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience center (iNANO) at Aarhus University on a PhD project titled “synthesis of novel zeolites for catalytic environmental applications”.
PhD Project Content
• Focus on inorganic zeolite synthesis at ITQ
• Rational design of novel zeolite materials for selective catalytic reduction
• Catalytic testing of novel zeolite materials
• Advanced in-situ X-ray diffraction techniques for characterization of synthesis and extra framework species.
This project requires a strong dedication towards synthesis of new materials and an urge to understand the underlying fundamental mechanisms. Throughout the project the competences of ITQ, HTAS and iNANO are combined and the project will be carried out approximately 50 % of the time at ITQ and 50% at HTAS with short stays at iNANO. The PhD degree will be awarded from Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Ideally, you should have a recent master degree or equivalent qualifications (max 3 years) in chemistry, nanotechnology, chemical engineering or materials science. Furthermore, it is a prerequisite to have an open mind towards working in different geographic locations and fast developing innovative environments. Preferably, the candidate speaks Spanish or is willing to learn to speak Spanish.
Application deadline: January 15, 2014
Expected start date: Preferably before April 2014
Location: Lyngby (near Copenhagen, Denmark) and Valencia (Spain)
