Group: Energy Conversion and Storage Group (https://itqecsgroup.itq.webs.upv.es/)
IP: Jose M. Serra Alfaro
The project will focus on the development and scale-up of electrochemical materials for solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) technologies aimed at net-zero energy systems. Candidates will work on cells design, nanocatalyst optimization, advanced fabrication techniques, and structural, morphological, and electrochemical characterization to improve efficiency, durability, and technological replicability.
Group: Catalysis Engineering for Sustainability (https://catalysiseng.info/)
IP: Gonzalo Prieto
Research topic: Breakthrough tandem catalytic routes for converting CO₂ and renewable syngas into high-value, sustainable specialty chemicals for detergency and personal care sectors. We combine precision designed catalysts, reaction engineering, and advanced operando spectroscopy to enable sustainable, carbon-neutral chemical manufacturing.
Group: Energy Conversion and Storage Group (https://itqecsgroup.itq.webs.upv.es/)
IP: Alfonso Carrillo
We are seeking highly motivated MSCA Postdoctoral Fellows to develop next-generation exsolved redox materials for the thermo- and electrochemical valorization of CO2 and/or green hydrogen production. The project will combine advanced oxide synthesis, operando characterization, and catalytic/electrochemical testing to design adaptive materials for sustainable fuel and chemical production with advance surface functionalities.
Group: The HG-Energy group (https://hg-energy.eu)
IP: Josep Albero
The HG-Energy group at ITQ is seeking strong candidates for MSCA postdoctoral fellowships in photothermal catalysis under the supervision of Dr. Josep Albero. Projects should address waste conversion (CO₂, microplastics, PFAS, etc.) via photothermal pathways using advanced catalytic materials, supported by mechanistic studies employing in situ and operando spectroscopic methods.
Group: Porous Materials for Adsorption, Separation and Environmental Applications
IP: Germán Sastre
In the field of Solid State Computational Chemistry, this project focuses on programming algorithms for selecting target zeolites from a large database. Targets include: separation of nitrogen and methane; water and carbon dioxide. Skills: linux, python, force fields, periodic dft, adsorption isotherms.
